Some coverage and interviews about the book…
The Hollywood Reporter: “Jake Tapper on His New Novel and Taking His Talents to Tinseltown With a TV Adaptation” — this is the article that revealed that Christian Slater is in talks to play Charlie Marder in a streaming version of my second book, The Devil May Dance.
I spoke with The Washington Post: “Jake Tapper imagines what would happen if Evel Knievel ran for president”…
Mediaite’s Colby Hall is “delighted to report that the book is a most enjoyable read…Tapper does a remarkable job using 1977 and all its weirdness to tell a story that feels eerily relevant to what we are dealing with today — it’s cocktail mixing tabloid journalism (or clickbait!), the rise of charismatic political charlatans, and aggrieved groups of Americans eager to protest something that they cannot quite describe.”
I spoke with Jewish Insider: “Jake Tapper channels the raucous ’70s in his new novel. Remember Evel Knievel?”
I also popped on CNN This Morning, The View, Stern Summer School on Sirius XM — if you want to see any of those videos, you should check out my account on twitter, threads, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.

So anxious to read your new book! 1977.was the year I turned 18 so it will be a treat to see how you portray it.
You know, I pictured Paul Rudd as Charlie and Gillian Jacobs as Margaret. That being said, Christian Slater is solid. He even played an idealistic Congressman in The Contender.
